Chicago Fire’s Monica Raymund Officially Exits Ahead of Season 7

Really sad news for all the Chicago Fire fans out there (like myself). Rumors are now confirmed – Monica Raymund officially exits the show ahead of Season 7. As most of you know, Monica was one of the original members of the cast and the Chicago Fire show. Keep reading to find out more about her exit on the show.

Raymund confirmed her departure in a handwritten note posted on Twitter:

As for how Dawson will exit the show, the Season 6 finale hinted at a new job opportunity: Dawson found herself contemplating a volunteer medic position in hurricane-torn Puerto Rico following a fight with her husband Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer).

Leading men Spencer and Taylor Kinney have already signed deals to return next season; Eamonn Walker will also be back, as will Kara Killmer, Miranda Rae Mayo, Christian Stolte, Joe Minoso, and Yuri Sardarov. Contract talks are still underway with David Eigenberg, who is expected to return.

Heartbreaking news for all the Dawson fans out there. I’m pretty sad Monica left the show but I am curious what she will do next. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
