Life has a way of shaping you into what it wants you to be, regardless of how much you fight it.

Brantley Prescott is damaged. Scarred by a past she can’t forget. Hiding secrets she’s terrified to share. Searching for a future she doesn’t believe she’ll ever find.

Myles Franco is alone. Burdened by mistakes he’ll never live down. Fostering a deep resentment for the opposite sex. Unleashing his wrath on any girl who gets too close.

Brantley has worked behind the bar long enough to recognize Myles for what he is—a douchebag player with nothing on his mind but keeping a steady stream of girls flowing through his bed. With his messy dark hair, sapphire blue eyes, rock-solid body, and endless tattoos he’s impossible to ignore. But that’s exactly what she plans on doing.

After just one run-in with Brantley, Myles is even more determined to stick to the rules he lives by. She’s mouthy, blunt, and doesn’t back down—no matter how hard he pushes her. She could turn out be the one temptation that drags him down the path he’s been trying to avoid. He won’t let that happen.

Both are content living behind the solid walls they’ve built around themselves. Neither is prepared for what happens when their lives collide.

Due to sexual content and graphic language – 17+ recommended.

**I received an ebook ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review**
This is a review of a book with adult content.

When I review books, I typically go on to purchase a copy of the ones that I really liked. And I can tell you right now I’ll be purchasing a copy of Caught Up in You by Colee Firman sooner rather than later.

I loved this story. I loved watching the transformations each character underwent. I loved the up and the down, the twists and the turns, and the way that Firman balanced out the romance with the angst.

Myles’ character is hot. Like, ridiculously hot. The tattoos, the air of mystery that surrounds him, the arrogance that oozes off of him … all of these elements combine together to create this insanely infuriating yet attractive man. I wanted to see his walls come down because I knew if or when they did, fireworks would follow in some form.

Brantley has been through hell and back, and as a result has erected these ten thousand foot tall, steel walls around herself that she’s determined to keep up no matter what. She works hard for everything she has, and she’s proud of all of her accomplishments. It was fun for me as a reader to see her morph and grow and learn, not only about herself, but about others and the way that relationships work and how people are.

I always enjoy romance novels, but I don’t like to see the characters get instant gratification. I like to watch them learn and face struggles, and I like to see them work for their happy ending. Firman made her characters work for it, and I loved it.

I couldn’t put this book down once I started reading. It’s well written, the plot is good, the characters are even better, and Firman keeps things moving forward at a pace that I found good.

Sometimes a story draws me in for the plot and other times it’s the characters alone that hook me at first. In this case it was the characters. The plot is excellent (as I said before), but the characters are pretty freaking awesome too.

Five out of five stars to this one.

Colee Firman has always been a closet writer. As an only child, there were constantly stories swimming around in her head. In 2012, she finally started unleashing them on the world, beginning with The Unbinding Fate Series.

As a Michigan native, she never passes up a chance to escape the winter weather. When she’s not working at her day job or writing, she’s traveling with her longtime boyfriend, reading with her cat, or binging on Netflix.

Nikki

I'm a midwest girl in my early 30s with a love of costume jewelry, lattes, and farmers markets. The written word is it for me. I love to craft my own stories, as well as devour those that others have written. Outside of writing and reading, I love film, music, baseball, trying new restaurants, traveling, craft beer, and spending time with my friends and family.
