Amazon in Talks to Revive The Expanse for Season 4

Happy Tuesday Fandemaniacs! There might be good news for all The Expanse fans out there. The show could find new life on Amazon!

The streaming giant is in talks to pick up the sci-fi series for another season. We got this news after Syfy announced that they would not be picking up the show again after season three concludes in June.

What is the show about?

The show is based on the New York Times bestselling book series The Expanse, written by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck (pen name S. A. Corey).

The story unfolds across a colonized solar system 200 years in the future, when two strangers become unwittingly swept up in a vast conspiracy.

The Expanse stars Steven Strait, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Dominique Tipper, Cas Anvar, Wes Chatham and Frankie Adams.

The series is produced and fully financed by Alcon Television Group.

Chris McCumber, president of entertainment networks at NBCU Cable Entertainment, said at the time of the Syfy cancellation:

The Expanse transported us across the solar system for three brilliant seasons of television. Everyone at Syfy is a massive fan of the series, and this was an incredibly difficult decision. We want to sincerely thank the amazing cast, crew and all the dedicated creatives who helped bring James S.A. Corey’s story to life. And to the series’ loyal fans, we thank you most of all.

Amazon declined to comment.
