TheWATCH: VENOM Official Teaser Trailer
The first official teaser trailer for Venom is here. The film is intended to be the first movie in Sony’s Marvel Universe, which will be associated with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Venom Symbiote was originally featured in 1988 in The Amazing Spiderman comics. Based on a character that needs a host to survive, the first host that he attached himself to was Spiderman. After Spiderman was able to separate himself from the creature, the symbiote began attaching himself to other hosts. The most noteworthy host after Spiderman is Eddie Brock. Since binding himself to Eddie, he is now considered one of Spiderman’s arch nemesis.
Even though he was originally created as a supervillian, comic fans now consider him to be more of an anti-hero in the MCU. He is said to be just as much of a threat to humanity as Magneto, Doctor Doom and Red Skull.
Tom Hardy (Eddie Brock/Venom) is joining the cast with Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed and Reid Scott. Ruben Fleischer is directing. Screenwriters: Scott Rosenberg, Jeff Pinkner, Kelly Marcel and Will Beall.
It will be interesting to see what happens with this movie since it is the first for the Sony Marvel Universe. Will they be able to keep on track with the rest of the MCU releases? I guess we shall see!
VENOM is on schedule for a United States release on October 5, 2018.
