WATCH: Logan First Trailer

Logan Trailer Drops

It’s here folks. The first trailer for Hugh Jackman’s final movie as Wolverine Logan.

Check it out, and then read below for a breakdown.

Featuring the sombre tones of Johnny Cash’s Hurt, it’s a hell of a first look. We see Logan struggling to dress, his body covered in scars. This is a far cry from the seemingly invincible mutant of X-Men movies past who healed from any wound.

Mutants are gone, Logan’s voiceover tells us, although whether that’s going to happen in the same manner as the Old Man Logan comics remains to be seen.

A very old Professor X (Patrick Stewart once more) speaks to him and we meet a young girl who, Xavier says, is “very like” Logan. Everybody say hi to Laura aka X-23. X-23 is a female genetic clone of Wolverine who has a pretty rough time of it in the comics. She is played by Sienna Novikov.

We also get a look at major league hottie bad guy Donald Pierce (Boyd Holbrook) who seems to be out to ruin everyone’s day!

Stuffed with car chases and badass looking fight scenes the trailer has a much grittier vibe to it. There seem to be some Bourne type influences, especially that sequence where Professor X is sliding around in the back seat! I’m intrigued to see how they play out this final instalment for Hugh Jackman. I’m also excited to see relative newcomer Novikov as Laura – she doesn’t even speak in the trailer but she does have a presence (and some moves!).

The movie debuts March 3, 2017. Until then you can keep up to date with the latest via the official social media channels on facebook, twitter and instagram.
