Supergirl Casts Superman

Tyler Hoechlin - supergirl

Supergirl Finds Its Superman in Teen Wolf Hunk

Teen Wolf star Tyler Hoechlin has been cast as The Man of Steel/Clark Kent in the CW series Supergirl.  Hoechlin will be seen in the first two episodes of the series, as he visits his cousin Kara (Melissa Benoist) in National City.

This will be the first time that Superman will be seen on the show.  He has been known to correspond with his cousin online, but hasn’t been cast until now.  From the sounds of it, Hoechlin was a prime candidate for the role from the get go.

“Greg and I have wanted to work with Tyler for ages, so this worked out perfectly because Tyler is Superman,” said executive producer Andrew Kreisberg in a statement. “We are so thrilled and humbled to add another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character.”

He now joins the ranks of greats such as George Reeves, Christopher Reeve, Dean Cain, Tom Welling, Brandon Routh, and Henry Cavill, among others who have all been cast in this role.

The series, which has moved from CBS to the CW, is joining the ranks of other superhero shows such as Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and The Flash. Rumor has it that there is an epic crossover event that will be happening sometime in December!  So make sure to tune in when it returns for the second season this fall on Mondays at 8pm.
