Wonder Woman headed for White House in Supergirl season 2

That’s right, Lynda Carter will be joining the cast of Supergirl for season 2 and she will be playing the President of the United States.

According to TVLine, who broke the story, the show’s exec Greg Berlanti had tried to get Carter to appear in season 1 as a guest star, but due to scheduling issues they had been unable to make it work. It seems now, after the show’s move to The CW, the stars have aligned and the appearance is happening.

Carter is most famous, no doubt, for playing Wonder Woman/Diana Prince on television from 1975-1979 so she is no stranger at all to the world of DC comics. She also appeared briefly in an episode of Smallville, playing Chloe Sullivan’s mother.

The role is apparently a recurring one, and Carter’s female president will make her initial appearance in the third episode of the second season which is due to air on October 24th. No word yet on just how many episodes she will appear in though. As we previously reported the second season of Supergirl will premiere on October 10th at 8pm as part of The CW’s retooled Fall Lineup.
