True Blood’s Stephen Moyer Joins X-Men Series
We announced last week that Jamie Chung had signed up for Fox’s as yet un-named X-Men series alongside Blair Redford. Today we can tell you that the show has found its leading man.
True Blood star Stephen Moyer will play Reed, an ambitious attorney trying to balance the demands of his job at the DA’s office with his responsibilities to his family.
Speaking in January, writer Matt Nix said that the show will feature a mix of established and new characters.
“There are a certain amount of [familiar] characters that I can use and am using and then other characters I’m inventing — but everything is invented with a nod toward the existing mythology,” he said.
The show will focus on a couple of ordinary parents who find out their children have mutant powers. Presumably, given this information on Stephen, Reed will be the father. The family have to go on the run from a hostile government, teaming up with a mutant underground to survive.
Fingers crossed that this one gets picked up by Fox and we can enjoy X-Men goodness on the small screen. We will keep an ear to the ground and bring you any further developments or casting info.
