JJ Abrams and Kathy Kennedy kicked off the annual Star Wars Celebration convention this morning by releasing a brand new trailer for the upcoming film Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The duo was joined onstage by Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley and John Boyega, three of the main cast members. Also in attendance for day one of the four-day convention were Star Wars original cast members Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Leia Organa), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO)and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca).
The trailer is action packed, with new characters and new costumes for returning droids. The ending brings back fan favorite Harrison Ford (Han Solo) and his Wookie friend, Chewbacca, with Solo stating “Chewie, we’re home.”
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to open on December 18.
