Soundtrack Sunday: Warm Bodies

This week for Soundtrack Sunday I bring you the sounds of Warm Bodies, the American Zom-Rom-Com. A film from the viewpoint of the Zombie, you hear his side, his thoughts and feelings as he talks about what it’s like to be a Zombie and be hunted down.

R played by Nicholas Hoult is a Zombie with a difference he has fallen for Julie played by Teresa Palmer who is a human hunter, her small unit is out getting supplies when they are attacked by Zombies and her boyfriend Perry is killed, it just happens that R eats Perry’s Brains and starts to have strong feelings for Julie, so wipes blood on her to hide her scent from the others and takes her back to his home, which is an awesome plane filled with trinkets he has picked up on his travels.
Most of the Zombies walk about the airport as it is somewhere they feel welcome, wandering around in a daze, much like people do, as the film goes along we find that the Zombies have two factions, the ones we are used to and then we have Boney’s who are quite literally the next stage, more vicious and violent. We also find out that Zombies seem to be getting better as they remember what it feels like to have a heart and that is not what the Boney’s want.

If you haven’t seen this film I recommend it and love it, its soundtrack is also really good with songs that are found to fit the scene not made and they really do make you smile when you think of it. So sit back and listen to my selection from Warm Bodies.
