Shadowhunters – The Fair Folk Spoiler Free Preview

I know you’ve been waiting, so here it is Angels, our Shadowhunters – The Fair Folk Spoiler Free Preview. After the shocks of the last few weeks, things are a little more settled this week. So, let’s dive in! The episode is written by Taylor Mallory and directed by Chris Grismer.

First of all, I am literally never getting over how beautiful Dominic Sherwood looks in this episode. Remember this from the 2B preview?

He looks this perfect for all but about 20 seconds of the episode!

The last couple of episodes have been great for seeing the pay-off of all of Dom’s stunt training. Remember the jump into the huge pile of boxes? You get to see the actual stunt in this episode and it’s pretty awesome.

Okay, fangirling over – moving on.

Simon is monumentally annoying with potentially fatal consequences. I’m sure most of you have seen the sneak peek by now where he decides he’s going along on the mission. His refusal to accept Jace’s advice, in an attempt to one-up him in front of Clary, almost ends very badly for everyone.

Will Tudor knocks it out of the freaking park this week.

Sebastian is by turns charming, mildly creepy and sinister af. His first scene was kind of unsettling in a weird way. There’s a moment towards the end which leaves you going “WTF?”. And as for his final scene? DAMN it gave me major chills! I am so excited to see what happens next with Sebastian.

Nicola Correia-Damude is also insanely good in this episode. I’m starting to think maybe Maryse has either been body-swapped now or was previously and is now her real self. In this episode she is maternal, full of praise for her children, sweet and considerate to others – total opposite of when we have seen her before.

The Seelie Queen and the representation of the Seelie Court are eerily perfect. There has been a LOT of speculation over the casting of the Seelie Queen. I’m not going to say which theories are correct, and which are incorrect. Suffice to say that the casting is spot on. Playfully threatening. Innocently terrifying. There’s a throwaway line in some of her dialogue that caught my attention and could lead down an interesting path.

There’s also a line of dialogue during the Seelie Court scenes that I think is going to make a few people scream. It’s a call back to something from a previous episode – that’s all I’m going to say!

Malec fans – I know you’re waiting for me to say something about your ship. Okay hold tight – there isn’t a tonne of Malec this week. At least not on their own.

Magnus and Alec are together, but only due to the meeting that Alec is holding to try and improve Downworld relations. That said, watch out for the moment in this pic, cos it’s cute as hell!

Who else thinks it’s about damn time Isaiah Mustafa got some more screen time? Oh you do? Well then you’ll probably be pretty happy with this episode. Luke has a fairly pivotal part to play in how this episode unfolds. I’ll be interested to see where his storyline leads after this.

Okay, that’s it. I think I’ve just about covered as much as I can without giving anything juicy away. Our Shadowhunters – The Fair Folk Spoiler Free Preview is done. Don’t forget to join us to live tweet the episode as it airs, Monday June 26th at 8/7c on Freeform. The episode is also available, world-wide, on Netflix from Tuesday 27th.

We will be back with our full recap/review after the episode airs!

Hey, I'm Clare, aka Ciara or C. My current fandoms are RWBY and The Last Kingdom along with a bunch of other stuff I tend to let build up and then binge! I'm a keen, albeit amateur, cosplayer and love attending cons in various cosplays. I'm also the resident comic book girl around these parts, especially small press comics, so if you've got an indie book you want reviewed, I'm your gal! When I'm not doing the fangirl thing I am a keen long-distance hiker, having completed Te Araroa in New Zealand and The Pacific Crest Trail on the West Coast of the US.
