*sniffs* I’m fine, really.

I’m not going to lie to you here people. Parabatai Lost is a tear-jerker. I’ve been sitting here staring at the notes I made while watching and wondering how in the hell I can write a spoiler free review. It’s going to be incredibly brief, because otherwise I risk giving away key moments that you need to experience fresh.

Things I can say about this episode – have tissues. Like a whole box of tissues. You’re going to need them. And maybe a cushion to hide behind cos things get pretty brutal.

Basically everyone spends this episode trying to find Jace for one reason or another. Some are good, others are really not. Meanwhile, Jace is trying to find his way back to his parabatai. Jace fans, trust me when I say that if you thought what he went through in ep 1 was harsh you ain’t seen nothing.

Malec fans, I know you guys were a little sad with episode 2 but I promise you that this episode is going to make it better. There’s a moment towards the end that calls back to a line earlier in the episode that simultaneously had me screaming with joy and sobbing.

The B plot this week features everyone’s favourite scrappy nerd from Brooklyn. Simon has some major issues to handle regarding his duties to his real family versus his vamp family. He’s under pressure on both sides and I really felt for him. Simon has the biggest heart and it hurts seeing him upset.

There are some new faces in this episode, and an important new set. Remember when Dom Sherwood mentioned he was excited for the scenes at the Hunter’s Moon? Get hyped because he seriously wasn’t kidding.

Flashbacks, oh the flashbacks! This episode contains some pivotal moments from Jace and Alec’s history as friends, brothers and parabatai. We see younger incarnations of Alec, Jace and Izzy throughout the episode. I loved the kids who played the 10 Year Old versions of Jace and Alec but I wasn’t so take with the teen versions. That is literally the only thing keeping me from giving this episode 10/10.

Highlights – we get a glimpse of just how truly powerful Magnus Bane is. Jace goes on one hell of a journey in the episode – it’s nice to see the other half of the parabatai bond. Casting of some new faces is truly brilliant.

That’s it from me on this one. Remember to check back after the episode has aired for our full recap and join us on Monday at 8/7c when we will be live tweeting the episode.
