Outlander new writers for Season 3 announced, and fans welcome them into the FANmily with open arms.

The second season of Outlander has not even finished yet, but us fans already have been given an insight into the planning for Outlander Season 3.

Producers Starz have previously announced that our fave series had been renewed for two new seasons, which will cover the next books in Diana Gabaldon’s series – Voyager and Drums of Autumn.

And now the powers that be have revealed there will be a bit of a shake up in the writing room for the third installment of Outlander.

Executive producer Ronald D. Moore announced that four new writers had been hired for Season 3, before writer and producer Matthew B. Roberts revealed they were Luke Schelhass, Karen Campbell, Joy Blake and Shannon Goss.

Roberts said the four newcomers would be joining Toni Graphia, Anne Kenney, Ron and himself as part of the team, who have been the core writers since the show began.

There were new faces added to the writers’ group in Season 2, as Richard Kahan took on Episode 5 and Diana Gabaldon wrote Episode 11.

Diana Gabaldon also took to Facebook to reveal the new writers.

She said: “I’ve met the new writers, though very briefly (no more than a handshake and hello, as I was rushing out after doing the podcast with Ron), and they all seem very bright and enthusiastic.”

Diana also told fans that she had read Ron’s script for Episode 1 of Season 3 and “it’s great”.

Starz revealed that Outlander was being renewed for two new seasons as fans celebrated the 25th anniversary of the publication of Gabaldon’s first novel – June 1, 1991.

The Outlander Season 2 finale will premiere in the US on July 9, 9 PM ET, with UK and Canadian viewers able to watch on Sunday July 10th.
