“O.M.G.” The Bold Type Review

The Bold Type

“O.M.G.”

The Bold Type - O.M.G.--Katie Stevens

Season 2 Episode 4

Jane crosses paths with Pinstripe, who inspires her to try a new style of writing; Adena reluctantly brings Kat out to meet her friends; Sutton fights for an in with a well-connected influencer named Brooke.

This weeks episode was titled “O.M.G.” and I must say that was the perfect fit for this episode. So much going on as always with these three ladies. Between Jane trying to find a job and kinda sorta seeing two men, Sutton trying to move up the fashion world ladder and Kat having to deal with her new life as a lesbian. Its kinda hard to keep up.

 Sutton

The Bold Type - OMG--Meghann Fahy-

Let’s start with Sutton (Meghann Fahy) who seems to have everything going right for her but she isn’t moving up fast enough for her own liking at Scarlet. She decides to make friends with Brooke. Things with Brooke are going well until a charge shows up on the bar tab for $500. Sutton is not happy about this at all. When she asks Brooke……..

Yeah, she put $500 worth of drugs on the tab. Sutton is faced with a decision, either say no and lose this new “friendship” or go with the flow and take her chances that no one at Scarlet will question this charge.  The things we do for our jobs. Lets just hope she doesn’t get fired.

Kat

Kat (Aisha Dee) and Adena (Nikohl Boosheri) are still in the beginning stages of their relationship.  They have never had the talk about past lovers and how many. Adena seems to be avoiding this talk at all costs; Kat wants to drive right into this chat. Which lands them at a gay bar full of Adena’s “friends” and/or ex-lovers. But these two really seem to love each other. So after a little fight they kiss and make up. I really do love these two together.

Jane

Finally, lets talk Jane (Katie Stevens)She is still searching for a job after last weeks let down at Scarlet. Well she is posted up at a local cafe she runs into Pinstripe aka Ryan Decker (Dan Jeannotte) and he feels her in on his new job at Page 6 as a gossip writer. By night, he basically goes to clubs and watches celebrities, but by day he is working on his novel. He and Jane get to talking and he invites Jane to come watch him work. Which of course leads to some friendly flirting. But Jane does tell him about Dr. Ben (Luca James Lee)

Jane being Jane, she has some issues with the fact that when they went out on a date he prayed before he ate his food. She doesn’t say anything to him but she does have a little chat with the girls about it and Kat points out that she is being a but judgey.

Kat is never one to hold back. Jane does go on another date with Dr. Ben and she brings up his faith. He explains himself to her but for some reason it still seems to bug Jane. Bugs her so much she cuts their date short and runs off to met Pinstripe to work.

Speaking of her working, as she is waiting for Pinstripe to show up, she seems something that makes her realize this may not be the job for her. Also makes her question her feelings about Dr. Ben and Pinstripe.

I was so proud of Jane for calling Dr. Ben and meeting up with him to explain herself and her feelings. I was not expecting to tear up over this, but I did. This show gets me all worked up. Every week I am either laughing until I cry or crying until I am laughing.

Be sure to come tweet with me next week when I live tweet the next episode.
