It’s Netflix Day at the TCAs today and there’s floods of new coming out about their various original series but the best news I’ve heard today? Marvel’s Jessica Jones has been renewed for a second season!
Yep, Krysten Ritter will be donning the ripped jeans and hoodie/biker jacket combo we all fell in love with once again to play the former superhero turned reluctant crime fighter.
Season 1 saw her go up against the terrifying Purple Man, aka Kilgrave, played to villainous perfection by David Tennant, with the assistance of her bff Trish (Rachael Taylor) and tough guy hunk Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and some water-muddying from Wil Traval’s Simpson. Now with Cage due for his own series on Netflix it’s not currently clear whether he will return for more Jessica Jones. More likely is that we will see Trish and Simpson back, especially since Simpson seemed to be gearing up to take on the role of comic book bad guy Nuke.
So now it’s definitely happening, what are you excited to see in a second season of Jessica Jones?
There’s no word yet on whether JJ season 2 will hit before or after the Luke Cage or Iron Fist shows, or the Defenders team up but we will, of course, keep you posted.
