As if I needed another reason to go to the theater!
Justin Bartha and Elizabeth Reaser have signed on to play a married couple looking to faith to find answers to the problems in their relationship in Robert Askins’ Permission.
Directed by Alex Timbers (Rocky, Peter and the Starcatcher), the world-premiere play from off-Broadway‘s MCC Theater will begin previews at the Lucille Lortel Theatre on April 29 and run through June 7, with its official opening on May 19.
Bartha’s previous New York stage appearances include the 2010 Broadway revival of Lend Me a Tenor.
In Permission, the actors will play Eric and Cindy, who follow their friends’ recommendation and join an organization called Christian Domestic Discipline. But imposing a new moral code on their union upends everything they know and take for granted about their lives.
