Joseph Morgan joins X-Men Series – Gifted

Joseph Morgan joins X-Men Series

It can’t get more official as casting announcements go. Long time X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner was present for the table read of the new X-Men series and tweeted this

Now, it’s exciting enough that we now seem to have a title – Gifted. But that’s not the only thing this tweet has given us. Look closely. Sitting there next to Jamie Chung is none other than Joseph Morgan! The star of The Originals, which returns to TV screens next week, has been added in an as yet undisclosed role.

Not that such trifles have ever stopped us here at FANdemonium Towers. We immediately went into speculation mode. Suggestions for Joseph’s possible role include Captain Britain or an evil government agent (because British). There was a brief suggestion of him playing James Madrox – aka Multiple Man. But I’m not sure the world is ready for multiple Joseph Morgan’s on screen at once. I know I’m not *faints*. There’s also a possibility that Joseph will be taking on one of the newly created characters. So we’re going to have to wait and see.

It also raises the question of Joseph’s future as the psychotic Klaus Mikaelson. The Originals has already completed filming on its 13-episode 4th season. Until there is an announcement on whether it gets a season 5, Joseph’s time is free to work on Gifted (or possibly X-Men: Gifted?). Not to mention that his The Originals co-star Daniel Gillies worked simultaneously on The Originals and Saving Hope for 3 years.

We will keep up to date on this one, of course, and bring you any more developments as they happen.
