J.K. Simmons Leads Navy SEALs Charlie Bewley & Diarmaid Murtagh In Luc Besson’s ‘The Lake’

It’s no secret that I have been a Charlie Bewley fan since I first saw him when he made his debut in The Twilight Saga: New Moon (Team Sexy Volturi Guard all the way). After going to countless numbers of conventions to watch him answer a gazillion questions on the convention circuit, he was surely solidified as a genuine great guy, that is more than a hunk! So it should come to no surprise to anyone, that when his movie project Thunder Road, was looking for funding I was ecstatic to contribute to get this film made.

I am happy to announce we are going to Charlie on the big screen starring with Academy Award Winner J.K Simmons (Whiplash) and Diarmaid Murtagh (Sons Of Liberty) in the The Lake, the action-thriller from Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp. The feature, which will be directed by Steven Quale (Into The Storm), is said to be one of the most expensive undertakings for EuropaCorp to date. The film is expected to open July 15, 2016.

Bewley and Murtagh join Sullivan Stapleton (the Aussie star of 300: Rise Of An Empire) as three of the four leads in the film. Written by Richard Wenk (The Equalizer) and Besson, the story focuses on a group of Navy SEALs who attempt to solve an age-old mystery involving a treasure underneath a lake in war-torn Serbia. This marks Bewley’s first foray into an action film as he was most recently in the Sundance fave Like Crazy playing Felicity Jones’ love interest.
Bewley is playing the soulful Stanton, who has a love interest (yet to be cast) and daydreams about what life would be like outside of the military.
