FANdemonium’s verdict
I checked out #1 and it’s a trip. Hypnotic regression, past lives, and a healthy dose of gore combine in a blood-soaked opening instalment. I would recommend getting your hands on a copy if you can, but only if you have a strong stomach. And probably avoid eating right before you read. The Originals fan in me had a little giggle when I saw the weapon on the first page – it bears a striking resemblance to Papa Tunde’s blade! I think we’ve met our core cast, and got just enough information on them all to leave you guessing where events will lead. I’ll certainly be keeping an eye out for #2 when it rolls around because the cliffhanger ending has left me wanting more.
