Castle fans can rejoice at the return of the the ever loved and anticipated battle cry of, “HAPPY CASTLE MONDAY!”
“Castle”, returns to ABC with its eighth season, tonight at 10/9c! The premiere is set to be part one of an exciting dual perspective two-parter. Tonight’s episode, “XY”, is from Castle’s POV, while its sister episode, “XX” will air next Monday and give a little bit more Beckett insight.
Season 7 was such a ride! From disappearances, amnesia, a wedding, and a dude ranch… and that was all in the first seven episodes! We watched as Castle and Beckett became a family (Finally!), and Lanie and Espo as they determined that they both deserve more. Tori became an integral part of the team, Gates achieved all the regard she had hoped to, from Kate, and from the rest of the team. The Ryans experienced the ups and downs of having a brand new baby at home, from sleepless nights to draining bank accounts! “What next”, was the quandary that S7’s finale left us with. Will Kate choose the political area or will she become Captain? What does that mean for Castle?
With new show runners Winter and Hawley, questions were raised over the summer and our fears were abated! Kate’s new path includes becoming Captain of the 12th, and Castle’s attention will shift to his P.I. firm and his new partner! We have also been assured that S8 will be “steeped” in Caskett’s love story!
New additions will be made: the Ryans are expecting a sibling for Sarah Grace and Toks Olagundoye joins as Haley Shipton and Sunkrish Bala as Vikram Singh. With these new additions, there was a marked departure. “Hollander’s Woods” was the last appearance of Penny Johnson Jerald as Captain Victoria “Iron” Gates. PJJ, you will be missed and part of the Castle family, Always.
