Fox Developing a ‘X-Men’ TV Series

An X-Men TV series could be coming to Fox according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The network is having preliminary conversations to adapt the iconic Marvel comic series — and feature film franchise — as a live-action television series with 24 producers Evan Katz and Manny Coto involved.

Twentieth Century Fox holds the film rights to the franchise, but in order to use the heroes on Fox, the company will need to get X-Men comics publisher Marvel to sign off on the deal for TV.

Rumblings about an X-Men show has been in circulation for some time. Last April, Simon Kinberg, writer of X-Men: Days of Future Past, told Collider that he thought an X-Men television series was a good idea.

“We’re still in this place of figuring out what the future of the franchise will be, but when you look at SHIELD to some extent and what Marvel is doing now with Daredevil… it makes sense to tell some of these stories in TV partly because there’s just not enough screens to do all these characters, and also because the serialized format of comic books is better suited for TV,” he said.

Marvel is currently developing their own roster of series, with Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter airing on ABC (which, like Marvel, is owned by Disney), and Daredevil, AKA Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist coming to Netflix.

TV Insider first reported the X-Men news.

This could be amazing if Marvel signs off on it!
