‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Casts Leila

Bella Heathcote - Fifty Shades Darker

More casting news has been released for fans of the sequel to the blockbuster hit Fifty Shades of Grey.  Today it was announced that Bella Heathcote will portray Leila, one of Christian Grey’s ex-submissives.  This comes after the news that Kim Basinger was recently cast as Elena Lincoln, another ex-lover of Grey’s, who is also a business partner and a bone of contention between Christian and Anastasia.

Heathcote, an actress from Australia, has starred opposite Johnny Depp in Tim Burton’s 2012 adaptation of Dark Shadows.  She has more recently appeared in the just released Pride and Prejudice and Zombies as Jane Bennet.

She joins the returning cast of Jamie Dornan (Christian Grey) and Dakota Johnson (Anastasia Steele).

The film is getting ready to start filming in the next few months and is slated for a February 2017 release.
