Daredevil on the Big Screen Again?

Charlie Cox as Daredevil

If Charlie Cox had his way, we would be graced with Daredevil on the big screen again.  With the success of Netflix’s new live action series Daredevil, could we see a cameo in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War movie?  Or possibly an updated remake of Daredevil?

The new series, recently renewed for a second season, has made big hits with both the critics and the fans.  While promoting the first season, Cox has had many interviews and has talked about what his thoughts would be for the future of Daredevil, whether it be a cameo in a bigger movie or a standalone.  Both would be appealing to him.

“Yeah that would be awesome – I’d love to do that” he revealed. “I love doing the TV show and I love that we have so much more time to explore the origin story and real deal with character and inner conflict, and spend a lot of time brooding in that world and those feelings, which is unusual for a superhero.

“And usually when you’ve got a two-hour movie it’s action-packed, and so I think that’s one of the things that the show has really benefitted from – having that extra time to really get to know and sit with these characters and see them as humans. But I’d love to see Daredevil on the big screen again. It would be great. And if I could be involved with that I’d be thrilled.” (IGN)

The principal shooting for the new Captain America is getting ready to start, so there may not be enough time for such a part to be written in.  With the Russo brothers at the helm of the script though, anything is possible.  And hopefully if the fans and critics make a big enough stink, they will be able to somehow find a way to put in even a small cameo.

Even if this doesn’t happen, the rumor is that Netflix is planning another series called The Defenders, which would include Daredevil.  So, hopefully, we would get Cox for not only Season Two of the series, but also in another Netflix series.

If you haven’t watched any of the episodes from Season One, they are all available on Netflix.  Make sure to go over there to check it out!
