The light at the end of the summer hiatus is here “Castle” fans! Principal photography for “Castle” S8 starts today! Interiors and exteriors began filming in Los Angeles on the next season of ABC‘s hit procedural “Castle”.
This year marks a departure from the usual as we said good- bye to show runners and head writers, Andrew W. Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller at the end of S7. The two people that have been tapped as successors to the Castle throne are, long time writer and producer Terence Paul Winter and a blast from the past that we haven’t seen since season 4, story editor and producer Alexi Hawley.
The actors have taken to Twitter to support the direction and bolster the momentum of the upcoming season:
While I cannot commit to the idea that MilMar has stepped away completely, I trust that Hawley and Winter will be able to carry out the vision that they have for the characters of Castle and Beckett. In addition to the show runner shake up, the end of season S7 marked the departure of several of the writing staff as well. Dara Creasey has found a new home writing for the CW’s, “Jane the Virgin”, we have also said farewell to Amanda Johns, and writer and producer Christine Roum.
Left behind to carry on are returning writers, Terence Paul Winter, Rob Hanning, Chad Creasey, Jim Adler, Adam Frost, and Stephanie Hicks. And joining the team this year are Alexi Hawley, Barry O’Brien, Michal Zebede, Nancy Kiu, Robert Bella, and Nick Hurwitz.
