It is with great sadness that we report that Brooke McCarter (Far left in the above image), best known for the role of Paul in the cult 80s movie The Lost Boys, has passed away.
A statement from his family stated that he died of a genetic liver condition known as alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency.
I was lucky enough to meet Brooke, along with several other members of the cast of The Lost Boys, at a signing event some years ago and found him to be a warm and very unassuming man who seemed almost bemused by the fangirl hysteria going on over some of his cast mates (the two Coreys were also in attendance), not to mention flattered by the attention he himself was getting.

Doubtless I won’t be alone in watching the movie again in the very near future in honour of Brooke.
