Bill Paxton

Actor Bill Paxton has died at the age of 61.

The Titanic and Twister star passed away on Saturday because of complications following a surgery, according to TMZ.

He won an Emmy for Hatfields and McCoys.

He was on a CBS series, Training Day at the time of his death.

His family said in a statement:

‘It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery.’

They added that he had an ‘illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and flimmaker.’

The family adds, ‘Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable.

I first saw Bill and it stuck in my head when he was in Weird Science back in 1985 when he played Chet Donnelly. It was some time before I saw him in anything else, but in 1994 he was in True lies along side Arnold Schwarzenegger. The hits kept coming, next great role was in Apollo 13, and of course we all remember him from Twister.

His huge tv success was in HBO’s Big Love, where he played Bill Henrickson.

No details of what kind of surgery the actor had. Our thoughts and prayers are going out to his family and all that loved him. He will be missed
