These days, finding love online is as commonplace as ordering that coveted sweater. But back in 2003, the whole concept of Internet dating was still quite new, with a stigma attached to it that meant those who were willing to test the waters faced a fair amount of skepticism from friends and family.

Such is the case for Chloe Thompson, a restless 20-something tired of the typical dating scene and curious about what she might find inside her parents’ computer. With two serious but failed relationships behind her, Chloe isn’t even entirely sure what she’s looking for. She just knows that whatever it is, she wants to find it.

Based loosely on author K. J. Farnham’s real-life online dating experiences, Chloe’s foray into online dating involves a head-first dive into a world of matches, ice breakers and the occasional offer of dick pics, all while Chloe strives to shake herself of the ex who just refuses to disappear. Will she simultaneously find herself and “the one” online, or will the ever-growing pile of humorous and downright disastrous dates only prove her friends and family right? There’s only one way to find out…
Click. Date. Repeat.

**I received an e-book ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review**

Once I discovered what this book was about, I jumped at the chance to participate in the review opportunity. I’m a 30something single woman and, in the last year, tried to dip my toes in the online dating pool. I’ve met plenty of people online over the years, but only for friendship and never for romance. I’ve been waiting for some time to come across a book that provided a fictionalized account of a lady and her online dating experiences, and as it turned out, this was just the thing I was waiting for!

Click Date Repeat chronicles the outrageous experiences Chloe Thompson has during a dating spree in which she meets all of the men on Yahoo! Personals. Her dates range from hilarious to pitiful, and touch on a variety of topics that women encounter every day in the online dating world (no pictures provided, the wrong picture provided, men who only want to get in the sack, men who are already in a relationship, etc.). Although the story is a work of fiction, I’d venture to say that some of the experiences Chloe has were either ones the author had herself, or that she witnessed others have while trying to navigate the online dating playground.

Farnham takes Chloe on her own journey during this story, and as she dates more people, she starts to realize more things about herself and makes some of her own changes. The supporting cast of characters in this book is great, from Jess the snarky, but lovable best friend, to Cliff, who really only seems good at providing the occasional booty call when necessary. Each person in Chloe’s life plays a part in this tale, and Farnham has written the book in a way that weaves everything—and everyone—together to create a fun and easy-to-read story.

The only thing I struggled with while reading was that sometimes there were minor details that didn’t quite add up between chapters. For example, Chloe had discussed speaking on the phone to someone at one point, but later in the next chapter mentions finally exchanging numbers with that person. I have the type of brain that tends to soak in every last detail while I’m reading, so I pick things out like that fairly easy. However, there weren’t enough inconsistencies to distract from the story itself, and the ones I did find didn’t take anything away from the story either.

Reading Click Date Repeat brought back a lot of the memories I had from my own adventures in meeting people, and the various encounters I watched my girlfriends and my dad have as they gave online dating a try. Chloe’s tale is one that many people could easily have experienced, and it was nice to read something that had a main character and storyline that were so easy to relate to.

If you’re up for a humorous look at romance in the 21st century, I’d give this book a go!
