“We have someone who saw you struggling with the deceased before using that knife. Your best friend, and our eye witness.”

In nine weeks Charlie Miller’s life goes from high-rolling perfection to a crypt of sin. All it takes is one night, one blade, and her boyfriend, best friend and new friends all either end up as suspects or dead.

Nate Westcott, a pierced, tattooed, charismatic lawyer, is a man she can’t have—but a seductive danger she can’t ignore. He’s cocky, infuriating, brilliant and wrong, yet he makes her question whether she really is the good girl she wants to be or more like the selfish killer everyone thinks she is.

And her body wants him in ways she’s not supposed to crave.

As the weeks close in, cracks start forming in her everyday world of pro football golden boys, law school domination and New York City nightlife. Everyone she cares about is at risk because one of them doesn’t love Charlie back. In fact, they want her out of the way. Disposed of. Set up.

One more step, and all Charlie has to do is fall through.

Week 1 starts now.

WHO WILL SNAP?

Snapped is Ketley’s New Adult Contemporary series with all the romance you’d expect, but the killer—and lovers—that you don’t.

**I received ebook ARCS of this series from the author in exchange for an honest review**

This series was very easy to read and was filled with all sorts of twists and turns that make up the perfect suspense and mystery tale.

Charlie has just relocated to New York City with her best friend Lara. The two girls are living with Charlie’s boyfriend, Jason Sladerman, who is a newbie to the professional football world. Their lives in New York start out great, with Charlie heading off to law school and Slade dominating the football field. Then Charlie meets Reagan in one of her classes and things start to get a little weird. Reagan swears her brother is a big fan of Slade, but as the story progresses, we find out that Reagan is the fan, and we watch as she becomes more and more obsessed with Slade. Pretty soon everyone is caught up in a web of drama, lies, scandal and eventually … murder.

My favorite thing about this series was the way that Ketley kept me guessing at each turn. I would start to doubt someone, and then BAM!—I’d have to reconsider and I’d wonder if perhaps I wasn’t doubting the wrong person. Ketley wrote the characters in a way that I found something likeable in almost each one of them, especially in Charlie and Lara. I loved the friendship they had, their banter, their closeness, and the way they came across more as a sisterly duo than simply best friends. I also loved Nate right from the start (probably because I have a thing for tattooed boys, hehe). He was a bit on the moody side, with a sprinkle of brooding in there, but he seemed like a good guy who had good intentions, and so I developed a liking for him immediately.

I was always leery of Slade and Reagan. For some reason I just could never fully trust either one of them. For Slade I think it was more the knowledge of his past, and for Reagan it was more the way she acted and the things she said and did.

There’s lots and lots of action in these books. Things are constantly happening, and the series moves at a great pace. It was really easy to get into these and read them. Ketley’s writing is great, the plot flows smoothly between each of the books, and things pick up in the next one right where the left off in the previous one. Even though the books cover a short period of time, the story isn’t rushed at all. Things fall right into place and I was very satisfied with the progression.

My biggest peeve with this series was Slade’s attitude. I felt like he was never really fully understanding of where Charlie came from when trying to deal with his fame and the new lifestyle she had to adapt to. His responses always struck me as very selfish, and he never really seemed like he wanted to do anything to help her adapt to things, but he just expected her to adapt to them and deal with it. That didn’t sit well with me, so needless to say he didn’t exactly earn a whole lot of points with me as a reader. But, he was dreamy. And I did swoon once. Or twice.

I’m not going to write any spoilers into this, but I will say that I was a) extremely shocked by the ending and b) extremely pleased with the ending. I felt like things worked well for the people they were meant to work well for, and the ones who needed some sort of consequences got them.

If you’re into serial stories (which I am, I admittedly love them!), you like mystery, you like action, and you enjoy romance, then I would absolutely recommend checking the Snapped Series out. And keep an eye out for more by this author, because her future work is bound to be just as good, if not better!

(Note: My review here is for the series as a whole. You can find individual reviews on my Goodreads page and on the Amazon pages for each book.)

Ketley

Ketley Allison began her career by writing books as birthday presents for her friends (with her friend as the main character and opposite a super sexy lead, of course) before ending it in order to walk down a path she thought she was supposed to follow.

The writing bug never left her–and, in fact, would often bleed into the official papers she was supposed to write–so now Ketley’s putting down her suit and finally following her dream. While her friends are no longer the stars of her books, she still throws in bits and pieces of them into each and every one of her characters.

As a result, her books tend to focus a lot on friendships as well as love, because let’s be honest, friends are what really get you through–especially when your epic love turns into epic heartbreak.
