Ever thought a dream might pass you by?

Nineteen-year old CeCe Mackenzie is determined to make her dreams come true. She heads for Nashville with not much more to her name than a guitar, a Walker Hound named Hank Junior and an old car she’d inherited from her grandma called Gertrude. But when Gertrude ends up on the side of I-40 in flames, Nashville has never seemed farther away. Help arrives in the form of two Georgia football players headed for the Nashville dream as well. When Holden Ashford and Thomas Franklin stop to offer CeCe and Hank Junior a ride, fate may just give a nod to serendipity and meant to be. Because while CeCe is chasing after her dream, she might find love as well.

New Adult Romance where “the characters are so alive you can almost hear them next to you.”

AuthorInterview1. Do you have any tricks you use to get into the mood to write or do you simply sit down and roll with it?

My only requirement for writing is that I’m able to quiet my mind. If I’m writing in a public place, I use noise reduction headphones and an app with ocean sounds. Even at my house, I have to find a place where other obligations aren’t calling to me. Sometimes, that puts me on my golf cart out in the middle of the horse pasture! But that’s okay. It’s a place I love to be anyway.

2. Where do you get inspiration for your characters and plot lines?

Places seem to trigger stories for me. Nashville is a place and community I love, and my Nashville series bloomed from my visits there to learn how to write songs. I also have a series now called Smith Mountain Lake, a place I grew up loving and now live on full-time. Characters seem to develop for me after I decide where the story will take place.

3. How old were you when you started writing?

I wrote my first story when I was nine years old on an old manual typewriter that belonged to my mom. It was about a pony named Sunny and of course had a happy ending.

4. If you could collaborate with any famous author, who would it be and why?

I’d have to say Nora Roberts because she knows how to give her readers what they want in a book and keep them coming back for more.

5. If you could spend a day with any fictional character, which one would it be and why?

I’d probably pick CeCe Ashford, one of the main characters in my Nashville series. She’s married to gorgeous Holden and lives the life of a country music superstar. I think it would be fun to actually be her for a day!

6. Favorite band/musician?

Currently Thomas Rhett. Love his voice, his music, and he’s also ridiculously hunky.

7. Favorite city you’ve visited so far?

Florence, Italy. I love all things Italian. Florence is so full of wonderful history, incredible food, beautiful clothes. You can leave the city, and in no time, be in Tuscany, some of the most beautiful countryside imaginable.

8. A city that you’d like to visit?

My favorite cities are in Italy and the ones I’d most like to go back to. Portofino is my absolute favorite, although it’s more of a town. It’s just so beautiful.

9. Favorite food?

Fruits and veggies. I don’t think I can pick one because I love so many. If I’m being completely indulgent, I’ll say pasta.

10. If you had to pick one city to be lost in for the rest of your life, which one would it be?

Venice. It’s like a magical maze, every street interesting and colorful and leading to another even more so.
