Hot on the heels of yesterday’s Hawkgirl announcement comes news that the Arrow/Flash spin-off (which I’m starting to wish they would just name already) has tapped Arthur Darvill to play time traveller Rip Hunter. Funny since Darvill is best known for playing Dr Who’s Companion Rory Williams.
Rip Hunter, Time Master (yes, really) is a funny character in DC Comics, he’s starred alongside such stalwarts as Swamp Thing and Booster Gold, amongst others, simply because he can. Character needs to time travel? Rip would show up claiming he needed them to help him save the future, or history… and voila, allons-y, anyone for fish fingers and custard (wait, wrong fandom), off they’d go.
Rip Hunter is the first of the 3 characters that have never before appeared on live action TV to be announced, and I can’t wait to see who the other 2 (one male, one female) will be.
