Animated Constantine Release Date Announced

Mark Your Calendars: Constantine‘s On His Way

  • “When are they going to get it; we want MORE CONSTANTINE and MATT RYAN AS CONSTANTINE“-Super fan Jenn Massaro

Jenn must have used on heck of a summoning spell. Constantine will soon be back.

It’s official, mark the date March 24th in the US. This is the date announced ahead of WonderCon for Constantine’s new animated series. WonderCon will be streaming the animated short the same day as it’s internet debut. This comes close on the heels of the announcement that Constantine will be returning to Legends of Tomorrow for the episode “Necromancing the Stone” as well as the season finale.

This also follows Neil Gaiman’s announcement that Sandman will be returning in August. Constantine has ties to The Endless as well…

Who’s Voicing The Laughing Magician?

Fans can be assured that Matt Ryan will be returning to voice Constantine. It has been hinted that the animated series will tie in to the cancelled 2015 NBC show, the Arrowverse, and Legends of Tomorrow.

This means that fan favorites Jim Corrigan(Emmett J. Scanlan), Manny(Harold Perrineau), Gary Lester(Jonjo O’neill), and Chas(Charlie Halford) may come back. This is only a definite maybe, as the debut episode has an English accented Chas, and it has been mentioned that the series will not be quite the same John as the NBC series.

Dark Past, Dark Future

Not only will Constantine return, but the animated stories will be darker than the live action. This is more in line with the Hellblazer comic.

Hellblazer debuted in January of 1988. This came after John appeared off and on in Swamp Thing as the title character’s magical advisor.

Any fan of the comic knows how dark the story lines could be, including serial killers, yuppie demons, and John’s battle against cancer, and The Fallen. Not to mention the greatest love of his life, Kit Ryan.

Where to Watch

The show will be available to watch at CWSeed.com . Lucky fans attending WonderCon Anaheim can watch the premier along with Matt Ryan in Room 200 North A from 10 am-11 am.

So dust off your trench coat, fill up your magic lighter, and get ready to get your magic on. Stay tuned to FANdemoniumnetwork.com for interviews and updates!
