Fans of The Divergent Series can rejoice once again. The third installment in the blockbuster franchise, starring Shailene Woodley (Tris), Theo James (Four), Octavia Spencer (Johanna), and Naomi Watts (Evelyn) began production today in Atlanta, GA. Other recurring cast includes Ray Stevenson (Marcus), Zoe Kravitz (Christina), Miles Teller (Peter), Ansel Elgort (Caleb), Maggie Q (Tori), Keiynan Lonsdale (Uriah) and Johnny Weston (Edgar), as well as Mekhi Phifer (Max) and Daniel Dae Kim (Jack Kang). Joining this stellar cast for this installment is also Golden Globe nominated actor Jeff Daniels (David), Nadia Hilker (Nita), and Bill Skarsgard (Matthew).
The series, based on author Veronica Roth’s best-selling novels, is being directed by Robert Schwentke. Lionsgate will release Allegiant-Part One on Friday, March 18, 2016.
After the earth-shattering revelations of Insurgent, in Allegiant-Part One, Tris (Woodley) must escape with Four (James) beyond the Wall that encircles Chicago to finally discover the shocking truth of what lies behind it. (Lionsgate)
The fourth installment, Allegiant-Part Two is slated for release March 24, 2017.
