Last night some of Hollywood’s top elite actors gathered together for the 2016 Critics’ Choice Awards. The Broadcast Film Critics’ Association and the Broadcast Television Journalists Association honor the finest in cinematic achievements each year in both film and television.
Hosting the show this year was TJ Miller (Silicon Valley).
Leading the way with the most nominations this year was Mad Max: Fury Road, with 13 nominations. Out of those nominations, the film managed to take home 9 awards. Other top contenders in film were Carol, The Revenant and The Martian with 9 nominations each.
In Television Awards, USA Networks Mr. Robot took home 3 top awards (Best Drama, Best Actor in Drama, Best Supporting Actor in Drama).
Popular TV series Outlander also took home the most binge-worthy series (not listed below).
One of the highlights of the night had to be the acceptance speech of Best Young Actor/Actress winner Jacob Tremblay for his role in Room. It brought tears and adoration from many of those in attendance.
