With her declaration of “this is my first all pop album”, Taylor Swift is taking us somewhere we’ve never been and I am already loving the ride! As Taylor’s star continues to rise, she is finding more and more ways to remain and become accessible to her fans. From her always active Instagram and Twitter account, to her new found insomnia… I mean tumblr account, Taylor is once again proving why her songs can speak for so many, she is one of us.
“1989”, Swift’s 5th full length album has been one of the singer’s most anticipated. Taylor herself got ahead of those that would seek to leak information about the album, by releasing her own bits and pieces to keep the ever anxious Swifties at bay! And the majority of the Taylor Swift fandom themselves have stepped up to a no tolerance policy for leaked material, effectively shutting down anyone who sought to jump the gun, so to speak.
Now that we have the album, I can wholeheartedly agree with the attendees of Swift’s Secret Sessions, I had no idea what was in store! The pre-releases were just the tip of the iceberg and anyone that held any trepidation over Taylor’s complete crossover to the Pop genre had nothing to fear! Less and less music sales have been the overall trend, with the accessibility to pirated and illegally downloadable music, however it has been predicted that Taylor’s album has come at just the right time to pull the lagging music industry through to a successful end of year!
And now for the details! The album is now available world wide both in physical copies and in digital downloads. The original version has 13 tracks (hmmm 13, we’re shocked!) And the deluxe version available only at Target has 3 additional tracks and 3 voice memos! Each album will also come with 13 of the the Polaroids that have become as iconic to “1989” as Taylor’s red lipstick and high-waisted shorts!
